Global e-voting simulation
Published by Guillaume May 15th, 2006 in General
A global e-voting simulation is starting today on the net. The goal is to explore the possibilities of extending voting rights to anyone on the planet.
We are currently holding a series of tests to explore the possibilities of holding a true World Vote.
The Global E-Voting Simulation is intended to provide better understanding about what role the internet can play in extending universal voting rights to every man and woman on the planet.
We have registered participants in 188 countries and territories, representing 99.64% of the world´s population. Each NGO, Institution or Individual is holding their own voting event in their country.
Voting has started on the calendar day of May 15th, 2006 at the international-date-line and continues until every time-zone has voted for 24 hours.
On the interactive map, you can track the actual progression of the World Vote in real time. Each blue dot represents an actual person who just cast an electronic vote in that country. Put your mouse over the blue dot to see the name of the country. The green dots allow us to track the geographic progression of the world vote.
